Louis Philippe Mirror

The antique Louis Philippe mirrors were first crafted in the period from 1830 to 1848 during the reign of Louis Philippe I, the King of France. These mirrors are easily recognizable with their characteristic soft and rounded edges. Quite a few examples also feature a variety of different decoratives such as gold or silver motifs, cherrywood finishes, Greek designs, or beaded detailing along the frames.

Some of the fine examples of Louis Philippe mirrors are considered to be very rare and valuable. Mirrors that still contain their original mercury glass are considered amongst the rare ones while the larger sized mirrors are considered to be more valuable, and necessarily rare. The Louis Philippe mirrors are classic and are full of an under stated elegance that looks beautiful in the contemporary homes too.
